Halloween in the Forest!

Today we went to a local nature park and learned about different animals in the forest. For example, crows are one of the smartest birds, bats are not actually blind, owls can't roll their eyes, and raccoons have soft pads on their feet to keep quiet when they run through the forest.

We learned that owls can see many things far far away. To see what they can see, we used binoculars to zoom into our friends and Oliver the Owl.

Oliver the Owl needed our help to make his nest. We picked up big sticks (and logs) to make his home.

We did it! Owl nest complete!

After we ran into Raccoon, we went inside to use our senses to feel a few different mystery items. Some things made us laugh or smile, others made us squirm!

What a great day! Thanks to the staff at the nature park and to our wonderful parent volunteers for driving and supervising! We all had such a great day!
