Have You Filled A Bucket Today?

This week we have been discussing how to "fill peoples' buckets". This is, giving others compliments or helping people out. These acts of kindness make people happy, filling both, theirs and your invisible bucket.

Today, we each wrote one special thing to a friend in class. Now we have a beautiful wall full of buckets (literally) and positive comments put in each one. We are all "Bucket Fillers"!

Happy Bucket Filling!

Don't Squeal Unless It's A Big Deal!

Today we read a book called 'Don't Squeal Unless It's a Big Deal'. It's a story about a class that was full of Tattletales. The teacher got tired of hearing the tattling all day that she made a new class rule: "Don't Squeal Unless It's a Big Deal". To squeal means that you tell a grown-up when someone does or says something you don't like, instead of telling that person first. Most of these problems are 'kid-sized problems' where they can work it out themselves. BUT, sometimes there are problems that are a BIG DEAL. A Big Deal is an emergency-- you definitely need to tell an adult!

Today we role-played different scenarios and discussed if it was a Kid-Sized Problem or a Big Deal. They all understood the differences but we will still be practicing and discussing this throughout the year.

Don't forget:

DON'T SQUEAL UNLESS IT'S A BIG DEAL!

Wemberly Worried!

Wemberly Worried is a book about a mouse named Wemberly that worries about everything! When it was time to start school, she worried even more! "What if the teacher is mean?" "What if I can't find the bathroom?" "What if I hate my snack?"

Our class was able to relate to Wemberly's worries on the first day of school. But, we soon realized that those worries were silly because school wasn't scary at all!

Here is a picture of our wall of Wemberly's!

Families, when you come to visit our class, don't forget to have a look at our little mice!

All About Me!

Last week we all got to know each other better by sharing a few things about ourselves. As well, we tried our best in drawing our own faces from memory. Parents, come check out our drawings in the hall! We love sharing what we did!
