Fun with St. Patrick's Day!

Although our class was on Spring Break for St. Patrick's Day, we decided to celebrate it in our last week. 

From chasing leprechauns...

To making leprechaun traps...

To celebrating the Irish...

And discuss the reasons why we are lucky....

We had such a great week! I can't wait to hear if the traps were more successful at home than in our classroom!

Tie and Moustache Day!

On Friday we had a school-wide Spirit Day: Tie and Moustache Day. 

Sometimes we are serious....

But most of the time, we are silly!

Pink Shirt Day!

Today, February 24th, 2016, our class practiced kindness by wearing pink, to show that we do not tolerate bullying! With one person at a time, we can make a difference! In our class, BULLYING STOPS HERE!

I love my family because...

Last week we celebrated Valentine's Day by connecting our Family and Friends units with Love. We discussed different attributes about how our parents (and family) make us feel. A few words that came up were "accepted", "trusted", and "respected". We made cupids and shared a written piece of why we love our family.

Lunar New Year!

Today we celebrated Lunar New Year! Most of us wore red and gold or traditional outfits in honour of the big day!

The Many Smiling Faces of Us and Our Families!

Last week we had a Family-Themed week. We shared stories and things we like about our family the most. When I asked the children what made their family so special, one of our students put up their hand and said "their love never breaks". I truly could've shed a tear right then and there. It's true. Our class is full of wonderful children that all come from amazing, unique families! Everyone is special in their own way, but it still comes down to that same quote. Your child's love for you will never break.
